Eating Disorders Recovery Today began in 2002 as a print newsletter offering hope, inspiration, and practical ideas to individuals and families in recovery. It was guided by editor-in-chief, Joel Yager, MD, and published by Gürze Books as a companion piece to the Eating Disorders Review, a clinical newsletter for eating disorders professionals founded by Dr. Yager in 1991.
In 2012, the EDRT launched its own website with new articles added regularly by prominent experts in the field, as well as recovered individuals with experience to share. This site also includes hundreds of free articles from EDRT's archives. We welcome submissions.

The EDRT is organized and edited by Lindsey Hall, co-owner of Gürze Books with her husband Leigh Cohn. They are the authors of Bulimia: A Guide to Recovery, the first book about bulimia—now in a 25th anniversary edition. In 1980, Lindsey was the first person to appear on national television to share her story of recovery, and she has been devoted to the field ever since. She has co-authored and edited numerous books and articles related to recovery from eating disorders.
Hall and Cohn are the recipients of the Lori Irving Award for Excellence in Eating Disorders Prevention and Awareness from the National Eating Disorders Association, and an Award for Service from the Eating Disorders Coalition. Both have received the Certified Eating Disorders Specialist designation from the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals.
In addition to the EDRT and EDR, Gürze Books maintain two other websites, Bulimia.com—a bookstore and informational site specific to eating disorders, and EatingDisordersBlogs.com—a site with about two dozen bloggers on a variety of topics. Yet Gürze Books is probably best known for their free, 52-page color catalogue, which highlights the best recovery resources available every year and is distributed throughout the US by clinicians, presenters, and conferences in the field.
